Bringing Thuringia's cultural landscape to life is child's play. With the free app Thuringia.MyCulture. you can get Thuringia's cultural highlights right in your pocket. And the best thing about it: some elements literally come to life and let you immerse yourself even deeper.

With the Thuringia.MyCulture. app, you can use augmented reality to gain exciting insights into Thuringia’s cultural landscape and improve your cultural knowledge while having fun at the same time. Explore Thuringia from a completely new perspective and get to know places and stories that you may never have discovered without the app.

Here’s how to do so:

Step 1
Download Thuringia.MyCulture. for free

To install the app on your smartphone or tablet, please download Thuringia.MyCulture. from the AppStore or Google Play Store. The app is available for both smartphones and tablets with iOS and Android operating systems.

Step 2
Choose your explorer tour

Please select an interactive tour from the list and embark on your journey of discovery. The list of tours shows how far away the tours are from your location. Simply click on a tour to start it.

The adventure tours are downloaded to your smartphones through the app. This is practical because you don't need access to the mobile internet when you're on a discovery tour.
Tip: find a free WLAN nearby for downloading.

The great thing about the stops on the tours is that they do not have to be discovered in order. You are welcome to visit selected individual stops or to combine them to a tour according to your wishes.

Step 3
Augmented reality scan

Once you’ve downloaded your favourite explorer tour, it’s time for you to set off! You can view both your current location and the stops that you can discover on your tour on the map. Go to one of the stops shown on the map and explore the corresponding content on your smartphone or tablet.

Some of the stops on your tour feature a particularly special highlight thanks to an augmented reality scan. Your smartphone will indicate which element at the stop you are supposed to scan with the app’s augmented reality scanner. When you have found the right object, simply focus your camera on the image frame shown in the app. Via augmented reality, you can now see extra additions to your real-world environment providing exciting and interesting insights on your screen. This additional highlight is sure to make your tour a truly unique and special experience.
