The virtual resurrection of the "Castle of Heaven"

The "new", virtual Himmelsburg was created in an interdisciplinary collaboration between musicologists, spatial acousticians and media computer scientists. By re-examining the surviving sheet music, image sources and older partial reconstructions, it was possible to make one of Johann Sebastian Bach's central performance venues and inspirational spaces accessible again.
