WaldResort Hainich | Weberstedt

At one with nature

Bathing in the forest, relaxation trips, herbal cuisine - this resort lives up to its name: power refuel in the immediate vicinity one of the last primeval forests in Germany, the UNESCO World Heritage Hainich National Park.

The WaldResort Hainich's founder and owner Jürgen Dawo always knew what he intended to offer his guests: A place for contemplation, unwinding, recuperation. The grounds with their 26 holiday chalets surrounded by meadows and trees offer plenty of opportunities for precisely this, as the "WaldResort Hainich" is Germany's first holiday resort inspired by the Japanese practice of forest bathing, shinrin-yoku. On a guided walk through the Hainich National Park, one of Germany's last surviving primeval forests and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the guests learn to see themselves as part of nature again through meditation sessions. If you want to, you can even sleep in a hammock in the forest beneath the stars. The dishes cooked in the resort's kitchen, where the herb experts teach cookery courses, are also inspired by nature. They use only wild herbs and vegetables foraged in the surrounding area.
