Cyclists can cross Thuringia in stages on the long-distance cycle routes. The D-Route 11 Baltic Sea - Upper Bavaria with the Saaleradweg and the Mittelland-Route D4 with the long-distance cycle route Thüringer Städtekette are worth mentioning here. Or you can cycle on the regional cycle routes across the country, e.g. on the Bach-Rad-Erlebnisroute or the Kyffhäuser-Radweg.

If you prefer to walk - be it on natural, historical or culinary paths - the Thuringian public transport network offers a variety of suitable connections. At this point, the Wanderbus Thüringer Meer and the Hainichbus from the World Heritage Region Wartburg Hainich should be mentioned. Furthermore, the RennsteigShuttle offers a good connection from Erfurt to the Rennsteig region on weekends and holidays. With the transport network "Rennsteig (er)fahren" you can also discover the Thuringian Forest.
